Programs

Concert

We hold in-person concerts every month or every two weeks. These performances take place in various locations like nursing homes, hospitals, schools, and public spaces. Our shows feature many types of music and entertainment, such as instrumental and vocal performances, dancing, talk shows, comedy acts, poetry readings, and more.

Musical Education

We are committed to giving all children in our community the chance to pursue music, no matter their financial situation. To make this possible, we offer basic music theory and performance classes to children who might not have access to these resources otherwise.

PIANO accompaniment

We offer free piano accompaniment for violinists, cellists, vocalists, and anyone else who needs the service but can't afford the fee. Our goal is to ensure that everyone has access to high-quality musical support, regardless of their financial situation.

students service learning

MusicAid serves as the SSL partner of MCPS in Maryland and FCPS in Virginia. In MCPS, students need 75 SSL hours to graduate and can start earning SSL hours the summer after grade 5. FCPS has different requirements: 5 hours for Grade 6, 15 hours for Grades 7-8, and 40 hours total for Grades 9-12. Students with 40 or more hours get an FCPS Service Learning Cord, and those with 50 or more hours can earn a Virginia Board of Education diploma seal for excellence in civics education or science and the environment.

PVSA Program

MusicAid is one of the certifying organizations participating in the national President’s Volunteer Service Award program, which is administered by Americorps and the Point of Light Foundation. We track volunteer hours and process PVSA applications for our volunteers. For more details please click here
